Ink to audit Tiger Airways’ inflight magazine Tiger Tales, CNN Traveller Asia Pacific and CNN Traveller EMEA

Singapore, 14th December 2005 – Ink Publishing plans to audit the circulation of both Tiger Airways Tiger Tales and CNN Traveller Asia Pacific.

Tiger Airways will be the only airline based in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines or Vietnam whose inflight magazine is audited

Ink plans to submit Tiger Tales to Singapore-based Media Circulation Services (MCS) for a circulation audit to cover the period from November 2005 to April 2006.

MCS was established in 1984 to provide independent audit and certification of the circulation of publications to ensure that claims are authentic and comparable.

Other titles audited by MCS include: The Straits Times, The Sunday Times, Marketing, Berita Harian, LianHe WanBao, LianHe ZaoBao, Shin Min Daily News, Tamil Murasu, The Business Times, The New Paper, Berita Minggu, Friday Weekly, Tamil Murasu Sunday, The Edge Singapore and The New Paper Sunday, among others.

The inaugural issue of Tiger Tales, which went onboard Tiger Airways flights on the 1st of November 2005, proved such a success with passengers that Ink Publishing ran a second printing of 25,000 copies just weeks after the magazine was first introduced. The next issue will go onboard on the 1st of February 2006.

Simon Leslie, Group Publishing Director at Ink Publishing, commented “I have to admit that we were surprised to find that none of the other inflight titles in the region had opted for an independent circulation audit given the rapid growth in passenger numbers."

Leslie added: “Given MCS’s impeccable reputation and extensive experience auditing titles across Southeast Asia, they are well positioned to audit Tiger Tales.”

CNN Traveller Asia Pacific to be audited from launch

Ink is launching CNN Traveller Asia Pacific—a spin off of the successful Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) edition of CNN Traveller magazine—in January 2006.

Ink Publishing plans to make an application for CNN Traveller to become a member of BPA Worldwide, the world's leading media auditing organisation.

To be published six times a year, CNN Traveller Asia Pacific marries the best in travel journalism and photography with the news values of CNN. Its issue-led travel features are designed to appeal to the business and high-end leisure traveller, providing insightful and thought-provoking coverage of the stories behind the headlines in some of the most compelling and unusual destinations around the world.

The new Asia Pacific edition will focus on issues of interest and relevance to Asian readers and will be available on the newsstand, in CNN partner hotels, in airport lounges and in first class aircraft cabins across the region.

CNN Traveller EMEA edition also to be audited

Ink also plans to submit the EMEA edition of CNN Traveller for BPA membership and to conduct an audit starting with the January/February issue. The EMEA edition continues to be available across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as at selected North American retail outlets.

According to Simon Leslie, Group Publishing Director at Ink, “We publish high quality magazines and stand by their circiulation. We want to provide advertisers in CNN Traveller with the assurance of an independent circulation audit conducted according to BPA’s world-respected, uncompromising standards.

“With a BPA audit, media buyers can be confident that circulation claims are accurate, and that they have the verified data that they need to assess a publication’s effectiveness in serving its market."
