Security IP Introduces Secuware Netbook Encryption Product
- Thursday, 04 February 2010
Security IP of Banbury, Oxfordshire has introduced a new data encryption software product developed by Secuware - a Spanish company, specialising in information security solutions.
The C4KNetbook is an optimised version of the very successful C4K series of disk encryption products for computers/laptops. Designed for Intel Atom processor based Netbooks running any Windows 32 operating system, the C4KNetbook provides secure pre-boot authentication and is certified to FIPS140-2 – as required by financial institutions and public sector organisations.
The low cost of Netbooks is making them increasingly popular with business users, charities and the public sector. In most instances data security will be just as important as it is for users of PCs and Laptops. Whole disc encryption covers all eventualities; where-ever there is a risk of theft, loss from PCs, Netbooks, Servers, and removable storage media such as USB sticks, CD/DVDs. By installing the appropriate Secuware C4K and C4KSS products together with C4KNetbook, organisations can implement a complete and unified solution for data encryption software.
For channel resellers, the wide scope and choice of computer security solutions presents a formidable challenge. Applications range from anti-virus protection, to content filtering and more recently data loss protection and the introduction of encryption, either full disc or by file and folder.
Commenting on the new products, Security IP Director, Andi Robinson said:
“The channel resellers distinguish themselves by providing unbiased advice to help their customers – the system integrators – to formulate effective IT security strategies. They are at the coal-face talking to the end users. We are aiming to support the resellers by bringing together a portfolio of products, covering the various functional elements required for all applications covering small office, through mid-size to large business, corporate companies and organisations.
“With the Secuware C4K range of products they can safely recommend world class solutions in disc encryption that will not only deliver customer satisfaction, but also a respectable profit margin.”
The C4K range of software products are FIPS140-2 approved and feature:
• Pre-boot authentication via digital certificate, smart card or USB token.
• Complete physical and/or logical encryption of hard disks and removable storage media and End Point protection controlling access rights to removable storage media.
• Support for multiple user log on with local administration console.
Based on the same infrastructure, C4K SSF (Secuware Secure Framework) extends the level of security to across the network to include shared network folders and removable storage media through the creation of secure closed groups for the secure exchange of files between members.
C4K SSF provides for centralised configuration and policy management console, implemented as a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in – running on any Windows server or XP Professional - making it easy to configure and implement, reducing costs and simplifying backup.
