zuuMedia’s customers protected by BitDefender
BitDefender UK is working in partnership with zuuMedia to support the delivery of online back up and computer data protection for small businesses and home users.
Under an exclusive marketing agreement, BitDefender anti-virus and anti-spyware solutions will be offered as part of the zuuMedia subscription based computer support service.
Commenting on the agreement, Nick Billington, UK manager for Bitdefender said, “Both companies share a common goal in meeting the requirements of home and small business users. The selection of BitDefender for this application is a powerful endorsement of the effectiveness of the solutions we provide to this sector.”
The zuuMedia service includes a complete clean up of customers’ computers to remove any rogue spyware, ensure security is up to date and the removal of erroneous file fragments. As well as improving the computer’s performance, this helps protect against ID fraud – a growing threat affecting one person for every ten Internet users, according to recent research commissioned by the government.
“On looking for a suitable partner to assist in delivering peace of mind to our customers, it became clear that BitDefender is top of the class,” says zuuMedia’s Nabil Shabka.
As well as preventative maintenance, zuuMedia also provides online storage facilities – effectively an offsite back up which ensures the safety of the business data and an essential requirement for business continuity. Once set up, the back-up process operates automatically. Customers can also specify a retention period to provide a safety net in the event of a file being deleted accidentally.
“Data is a priceless asset for any business, irrespective of its size, and must be protected both on and offsite” says Nabil Shabka. “Home users are also at risk. In the event of spyware infection, a break-in, theft or damage by fire, a computer is usually insured and can easily be replaced but there are no negatives for digital photographs, never mind lost address books and emails.”
