Data Centre Innovation and Leadership Honoured at Gala Awards Ceremony

London, 26 March 2007 – The first ever awards ceremony for the data centre sector in Europe was celebrated in London at an inaugural ceremony at Data Centres Europe 2007.

TelecityRedbus won both the Best Pan European Data Centre award and its chief executive, Michael Tobin won CISCO sponsored Outstanding Leadership in Data Centres Award.

Best European Data Centres Award and Best Disaster Recovery Services Award were taken by IX Europe represented by Guy Willner, CEO of the company.

Other winners include Attenda – for the Best Managed Services Award, Migration Solutions – whose chief executive Alex Rabbetts took the Best Technical Project Management Company for Data Centres Award, Bladelogic who won the Most Innovative New Software Award and Active Power, who won the Most Innovative New Hardware Award.

Companies shortlisted for the Awards included AMS, Cap Gemini, Cartagon SL, Checkpoint, Data Center Luxembourg, Digital Realty, Galileo Connect, HP, Interxion, Level (3) Communications, Nexellent, Pioneer Technology, Phoenix IT, Q-Layer, Safehost SA, Schnabel AG, Scotland Online, Sungard Availability Services, Stockley Park, Verizon Business Services, VMWare.

CEOs shortlisted included Guy Willner, IXEurope, Paul Flatt, Hurleypalmerflatt, and Nigel Clarkson, Pioneer Technology.

Nominations for the 2008 Awards will open at the end of this year.
