Martin Dawes Systems Joins Forces with 20:20 Logistics in European Expansion
Warrington, 6th June 2006 - Martin Dawes Systems, a major international provider of MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) solutions, has announced its UK partnership with 20:20 Logistics, part of the Caudwell Group, is being extended to target new opportunities across the rest of Western Europe.
Already the world’s largest value added distributor of mobile handsets, 20:20 Logistics will carry out complete handset management for Martin Dawes Systems’ industry-leading Telco in a Box MVNO services.
Tom Hodgson, Sales & Marketing Director, Martin Dawes Systems said: “Our MVNO services have been extremely successful and we have been seeking strong partners to help meet market demands. 20:20 Logistics has unmatched experience in handset management, and an international distribution infrastructure, and our partnership enables us to embrace the growing MVNO opportunity in Europe assured that this critical area is covered.”
20:20 will be responsible for the handset branding, fulfilment, distribution and packaging part of Martin Dawes Systems successful MVNE (mobile virtual network enablement) solution.
The two companies already have a well established relationship in the UK where Martin Dawes Systems MVNE clients include BT Mobile. Future customers in further European markets will benefit from economies of scale as well as 20:20 Logistics’ Global Fulfilment Service which distributes mobile phones to over 60 countries. This means major brands can depend on an MVNE solution from Martin Dawes Systems to take complete responsibility for all aspects of the handset lifecycle from procurement to end user deliveries, customer support and reverse logistics.
Spain is one major market where the two companies see huge potential for MVNO growth. From February 2006, the Spanish telecom regulator, CMT, required network operators to open up their networks to MVNOs. This has stimulated interest from major brands including large supermarket chains to offer mobile phone services, and it appears Spain will repeat the boom in alternative providers seen in France and Germany.
Richard Baxendale, Business Development Director for 20:20 Logistics, adds, "Martin Dawes Systems is a natural partner for us. From a heritage as one of the first and largest MVNOs, they were one of the first to understand the need for MVNEs to support the growth of MVNOs and are at the forefront of this market in Europe. We work alongside the team at Martin Dawes Systems in helping bring innovative MVNOs to market successfully and extending this partnership into new territories is in line with our global expansion strategy. It will help consolidate our leadership position as the largest value added logistics handset distributor in the world.”
