Situl Raithatha of restructuring firm Springfields was appointed Administrator of Schlegel Automotive Europe Limited on 4 October 2012.
In mid November, the Administrator announced that despite extensive efforts it had not been possible to find a buyer for the business. Unfortunately, the position has not since altered and it is expected that production will cease at the plant in the week ending 20 January 2013. Regrettably the majority of the current work force of 82 are expected to face redundancy and a skeleton team will be kept on to assist with the winding down of the operations and disposal of the remaining assets.
