Migrating data between archives is a non-trivial exercise
Customers of EMC EmailXtender can now cost effectively move their legacy email records into EMC SourceOne, ensuring future-proof retention and e-discovery
[Bristol, UK – February 13 2013] Leading email archive migration vendor TransVault Software today announced an offering that provides EMC® customers with a low cost transition path to EMC’s next generation archiving platform, EMC SourceOneTM.
To date, customers using EMC’s first generation archive, EMC EmailXtender®, have been able to implement SourceOne alongside EmailXtender; giving end users unified access to data in both systems. With the availability of Transvault Migrator for EMC SourceOne, EMC customers with long-term data retention needs can now physically transfer all legacy email records into SourceOne to consolidate their email archives on the latest EMC email archive platform.
According to TransVault CEO Barney Haye, “Migrating data between archives is a non-trivial exercise. TransVault’s software is proven to cope with complex scenarios, such as legacy versions of archiving applications, shortcut synchronization and conversion, mailboxes belonging to staff no longer with the company, and so on. With TransVault Migrator for EMC SourceOne, we’re simplifying how customers upgrade their email archiving infrastructure.”
“SourceOne is a leading archiving platform that delivers benefits for operational efficiency and legal discovery”, explained Edgard Capdevielle, Sr. Director of Archiving Operations, EMC Backup Recovery Systems Division. “TransVault Migrator for EMC SourceOne will enable customers to reap all the benefits of managing their data in SourceOne without the overhead of maintaining two environments.”
TransVault Migrator for EMC SourceOne is available at a reduced price through an EMC-sponsored program as part of a complete migration service available from select EMC partners and EMC Global Services. The service includes detailed analysis and profiling of existing EmailXtender contents, intelligent migrations into SourceOne that reflect compliance and business needs, and full auditing of what is migrated to maintain chain-of-custody.
