The company's headcount has increased reflecting the maturity of the UK software testing market and Sogeti's commitment to close client relationships
Demand for software testing, QA consultancy and managed services leads to increase in client base and plans to continue expansion, including 30 new graduate recruits in 2012
London, UK - 10 October 2012 - Sogeti UK, a leading provider of software testing and infrastructure services to corporate and public sector clients in the UK, has hired its 600th employee on the back of strong growth and a commitment to innovation and training. The company has also announced the recruitment of 30 new graduates in 2012.
The company's headcount has increased reflecting the maturity of the UK software testing market and Sogeti's commitment to close client relationships, which has been highlighted in independent reports from industry analysts including Ovum and Nelson Hall.
Sogeti UK has remained committed to the recruitment and training of graduates, with its training programme taking on a total of 50 new recruits since 2011. The scheme is comprised of compulsory ISEB software test training and certification, assessment days, mentoring, exams, and on-site shadowing. Many graduates have a computer science background - although a number have degrees in other fields including English, history or geography - but most of all, Sogeti requires that candidates have a passion and interest in technology.
In 2013 Sogeti will, alongside the current graduate scheme, run an apprenticeship program to reflect its on-going commitment to the UK and its younger generation. Sogeti credits itself with having a corporate conscience and being very much investors in its people. Citing their main priority as making sure all employees develop rewarding careers, Sogeti says that next year they hope to take on an additional 20 graduates and 10 apprentices.
At the core of Sogeti UK's success is its RightShore model, a global delivery model complemented by state-of-the-art Testing Centres of Excellence (TCoE) that co-ordinate testing team resources, members and projects to deliver testing solutions for Sogeti clients around the world. The company is headquartered in London and while more than half of Sogeti UK employees are based in the UK, there are a substantial number of team members working offshore in India and China, as well as a number of near-shore facilities in France, Spain, Germany, Benelux and other European locations.
Brian Shea, CEO of Sogeti, said: 'Our growth to 600 Sogeti UK employees confirms our delivery of a global service and unrivalled cost-efficiencies, all while sharing our extensive experience with clients across diverse geographies and industries. This includes our commitment to our annual graduate intake - it's important to us that we are developing and encouraging graduates to explore and learn, first-hand, the possibilities offered by software testing. Our programme is unique because these graduates experience working with offshore and rightshore employees, working seamlessly with them across time zones, geographies, cultures and clients to deliver consistently brilliant results.'
By balancing the use of resources, locations and team members, RightShore has been proven to reduce client costs by up to 30 percent through solutions that increase productivity and help to expand businesses.
