KELLOGG’S EMPLOYEES TO RECEIVE BONUS PAY THIS Christmas
Today [15th December], 1,600 non–executive office and factory based employees at Kellogg’s will receive a financial boost with an extra weeks pay in their salary (53rd Week’s Pay)*. On average employees will receive £600 extra in their December pay; this should be especially helpful this year in the challenging economic climate.
The 53rd Week’s pay scheme at Kellogg’s has been running, as part of 1600 employee contracts, for over 25 years. A poll of Kellogg’s employees shows that 97 per cent** feel it is a great perk. 56 per cent of employees will use the extra week’s pay for Christmas presents, 22 per cent on food and drink over the festive season and 18 per cent for a holiday in the New Year.
Karen Meehan, Kellogg’s VP of human resources comments, “The 53rd week’s pay is a great scheme that our employees really value, particularly during the festive season. This is part of a reward package Kellogg’s offers to employees which also includes flexible benefits, pension and share purchase plans.”
Sara Collie, nutritionist at Kellogg’s will use her 53rd Week’s Pay to buy all of her Christmas presents, she comments “I am worried about Christmas this year in the current climate so this extra money couldn’t come at a better time. Last year I received an extra week’s pay at Christmas but I didn’t really appreciate it as much, this time I will spend it wisely.”
Stef Gonzalez, Kellogg’s promotions assistant comments: “I will use my extra week’s pay for a flight home to see my family for New Year. They are based in Spain so this extra payment from Kellogg’s is really helpful, particularly with the rising cost of air fares at the moment.”
